I want everyone to be able to use LootCastPuff. This is a small, independent site, so here’s plainly what I aim for, what I’ve done, what still falls short, and how to reach me.
The goal
The target is WCAG 2.1 level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. I’m not there on every page yet. The gaps are listed below.
What I check on every change
- An automated accessibility test (axe) on every page I touch.
- Light and dark mode, on a phone-sized screen and a desktop one.
- Reduced motion: if your device asks for less motion, the moving parts stop or swap for a plain message.
- Keyboard use: a “Skip to content” link comes first, and the focused link or button gets a bright outline.
- Alt text: I write a description for photos and art, and hide purely decorative bits from screen readers. If you spot one I missed, tell me.
Known gaps (October 3, 2026)
- A few older theme parts are still a little under the contrast target: the share buttons on posts, and in dark mode the next and previous post titles and some category labels.
- With JavaScript off, Touch Grass can’t log your day. The count still shows, and the river and weather readings print without it.
- Videos play in YouTube’s own player, which I don’t control.
- The Weekend Field Manual PDF isn’t tagged for screen readers yet.
I’m fixing these one at a time, and this list gets shorter as each fix ships.
Hit a barrier?
Email GoodVibes@LootCastPuff.com and tell me the page and what got in your way. I read these myself and answer within seven days.
