I grew up playing Pod Racer. So when a new Star Wars racing game drops, I pay attention.
Here’s the news: STAR WARS: Galactic Racer is live on Amazon Luna today. If you’ve got Prime, you can play it on Luna in every region where Luna comes with Prime. No download, no install, and it landed the same day it launched everywhere else.

What it actually is
Galactic Racer comes from Fuse Games, a studio started by racing veterans with Burnout and Need for Speed on their resumes. That alone got my attention. Those games understood speed.
The campaign follows a racer named Shade, and it’s built around runs. You race, you make choices, and those choices push where your run goes next. Every run can go a different way.
- Four classes of repulsorcraft: landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and, yes, podracers.
- Three modes: Campaign, Arcade and Scenarios.
- Real Star Wars dirt to kick up: Jakku, Ando Prime, Sentinel I and more.
- Familiar faces on the grid: you’re racing computer-controlled rivals, Sebulba included. Watch your engines.

Why I’m starting on Luna
I’m not dropping full price on vibes. Luna lets me get my hands on it today with the Prime I already pay for. I’m gonna run it there first and figure out if it’s worth buying the full game, or if I hold out and wait for it to come to Game Pass.
That’s the whole move. Try it, then decide. Your wallet will thank you.
What I’m watching for
- Does it feel fast? Pod Racer made you feel like one bad turn would end you. That’s the bar.
- Do the podracers handle like podracers? Two engines and a prayer, not a car with a Star Wars skin.
- Do the runs stay fresh? Choices that actually change the next race keep me coming back. Choices that don’t get old quick.

I’ll report back once I’ve put some laps in. If it earns a spot in the Vault, you’ll hear about it.
